ESRC Impact Transition Awards
The awards are to support a project working with a non-academic partner that will advance and extend the impact of recently-completed PhD research.
Parental Leave Funding
The Parental Leave Bursary provides funded support for Maternity, Paternity and Adoption leave for Newcastle PGR University Studentship Holders. For students with a Newcastle University funded stipend and no other funding source.

There are a number of opportunities available in Singapore including an existing partnership with the Singapore based ‘Agency for Science, Technology and Research’ (A*STAR)
Covid-19 funding
A small amount of Covid 19 Funding will continue to be available for exceptional cases. If you are due to reach the end of your minimum candidature up to 31st August 2025 and you can demonstrate that your research project and progress were significantly impacted by the Covid-19 pandemic, you could submit an application for consideration. Please contact the doctoralcollege@newcastle.ac.uk, for guidance in the first instance.
Student Financial Support
If you are experiencing financial difficulties and are worried about money please contact Student Financial Support. The Doctoral College have given additional funding this year to the Student Financial Support Fund to specifically support PGR students.
