Accountability Groups
A space to get some work done together in a friendly, supportive environment.
Do you struggle with motivating yourself? Has it been a while since you read a relevant research paper? Are you always putting off writing? Then join us for our PGR-led accountability groups. These groups are the perfect space to get work done within a supportive environment. We will set goals at the start of each session, work towards them together and then reflect on our progress at the end. Let’s get this work done together, one step at a time!
This is where you can join fellow researchers in a PGR-led space to set goals, work towards them together and reflect on progress at the end. The groups will run 5 times a month (2 x in person, 3 x online) and last between 2.5-3.5 hours. Credits/hours provided for attendance.
Practice Sharing Groups
A space to discuss a range of issues related to PGR study and share approaches and strategies.
We’ll come together and discuss our approaches to common challenges around academic study: what we think we should do, what we really do, and possible next steps for making our PGR research more comfortable and fulfilling.
This is where you can reflect on and share strategies, habits (or even just coping mechanisms) around a range of issues related to PGR study like time management, working with the literature, academic writing, and editing. Practice sharing groups will take place twice a month (once online, once in person) and last 1-hour. Credits/hours provided for attendance.
PGR Discussion Groups
A space to discuss a range of topics related to PGR life and study.
PhD life is full of obstacles! In this series of monthly discussion groups, we will meet up and discuss issues that we come up against as PhD to remind ourselves that we are not alone. Come along to share experiences and exchange tips, or to simply learn from others. The discussion will be led by PGR students, not by members of staff, to create a relaxed and informal atmosphere.
This is where you can meet with other PGRs to discuss issues we come up against to remind ourselves that we are not alone. Discussions will take place twice a month (once online, once in-person) and last 1-hour.
