In a remarkable triumph, the Speech and Language Therapy (SLT) Society has been awarded the coveted title of "Society of the Year" at this year's highly anticipated Society Awards ceremony. Celebrating the tireless efforts and remarkable achievements of student societies, the event showcased the outstanding impact the SLT Society has made within the academic community and beyond.
The Society Awards, an annual event organized by Newcastle University aims to recognise and honour the outstanding contributions made by various student societies throughout the academic year.
The SLT Society's impressive achievements extend beyond their coveted "Society of the Year" title. They were also proudly announced as the runners-up in two additional categories - "Contribution to the Community" and "Contribution to Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion." This recognition highlights the society's dedication to making a positive impact on their local community while striving for inclusivity and diversity within their ranks.
Furthermore, the society President, Anna Sellstrom, received a well-deserved nomination for "Individual Outstanding Contribution." This individual recognition underscores Anna's exceptional leadership skills and relentless commitment to driving positive change and fostering a sense of belonging within the society.
