The course
I was happy to study in my course. This degree allowed me to gain more knowledge on research philosophy and the opportunity to discuss various topics with coursemates. That was amazing. Studying abroad was challenging for me, but the lecturers and staff here impressed since the first day of studying at the university. I applied what I have learned from this course to my profession as a lecturer.
International Welcome Week
I participated in international welcome week, and I was really happy with it. As it was my first time travelling to the UK, the staff from Newcastle University picked me up at Newcastle International airport and took me to the University accommodation. That was an excellent service. I also joined other activities the Newcastle University Students' Union (NUSU) provided in that week such as sightseeing around Newcastle that I could make friends from different countries. The University also informed us about services and support.
Facilities
The facilities at the School and the University were superb. I spent most of the time studying and writing my thesis at the School and the library. The computers provided for students were updated quite often. It was very convenient especially for Postgraduate students as we could also ask the IT service for updating the program we needed for data analysis, and they supported us. I felt very comfortable with it.
Living in Newcastle
I enjoyed life in Newcastle. The city centre is just opposite the University. I could walk from the uni to China Town in 10 minutes, and there were many Thai restaurants in the city. I could also go to the beach in around 20 minutes by metro. The living cost here was affordable.
Accommodation
I'd stayed at the University accommodations for 2 years before moving to private accommodation. I stayed at Henderson Hall for one year and at Leazes Terrace for one year. Both of them were comfortable, and the staff there was helpful and friendly. Leazes Terrace was close to St. James stadium and Leazes park.
Now
I am a lecturer in the Department of Foreign Languages, Faculty of Liberal Arts, Rajamangala University of Technology Srivijaya, Songkhla, Thailand.
