EDI Training

The EDI team provide training for staff on a range of related topics.

The EDI team support staff with the skills, knowledge and awareness they need to help the University deliver on its EDI objectives. We want to make the University an inclusive space for everyone regardless of background.

We all have a duty to educate ourselves and identify where our gaps in knowledge may be. By delivering training and having an online self service suite of training we can ensure that everyone feels equipped. You can find those resources via the university LMS.

The University's mandatory learning offer ensures that all staff have a basic understanding of EDI. It's important all employees know the standards that we want everyone associated with the University to uphold.

The team also offer bespoke training on themes that include:

  • white privilege
  • anti-racism and allyship
  • challenging and overcoming bias
  • being an active bystander

We offer training sessions that any member of staff can sign up to. We can also deliver inclusive language training to support respectful and inclusive communication at the University.

We can provide more targeted training in different schools and departments across the University. Speak with our team to discuss your needs in more detail.

Recently, we have delivered a bite-size series of EDI training sessions to tutors in the School of Medicine. This has helped them embed EDI in their work supporting medical students.
