UK Geoenergy Observatories Roadshow

31st March 12:00pm - 2:30pm
University of Edinburgh

UK Geoenergy Observatories Roadshow

The £31 million UK Geoenergy Observatories (UKGEOS), at Glasgow and Chester, provide facilities uniquely capable of the experimental investigation of heat and fluid flow in the subsurface, to support the net-zero agenda on heating and cooling, and energy storage.  Focusing on mine water thermal and aquifer thermal energy storage, the sites will be supported by an exceptional resource of cores and core scanning equipment.

This event will provide an opportunity to learn about the UKGEOS facilities via a presentation and question and answer session. There will also be an opportunity for participants to network and meet members of the UKGEOS project delivery team over lunch.

You may be interested in attending this event if you are a scientist or engineer developing research on the use of low-grade geothermal energy in natural aquifers and former coal mine workings.  University business development staff who support research, and academics from other disciplines, are encouraged to attend.

Further information on the UK Geoenergy Observatories is available on the UKGEOS website, together with open access data, reports and updates on Observatory development: https://www.ukgeos.ac.uk
