Description
The project provides much needed understanding and methodologies. This is for the effect of damage when using steel and aluminium in large ship hull construction.
It compares structural analysis methodologies at both the component level and the global level. It uses available experimental data. It refers the data to similar steel structures for comparative purposes.
The project further develops the new methodology, which predicts progressive collapse of damaged ship’s hull girders.
