Siyue is a Research Associate at the School of Engineering, Newcastle University.
Siyue Joined the Newcastle University in April 2024, and worked with Professor Daniel Coca to focus on the project of Data Analytics and Systems Modelling for Healthcare. Prior to joining the Newcastle University, she received her PhD award of Computer Science and Informatics at the University of Huddersfield. She also obtained a MSc in Medical and Healthcare simulation from University of Hertfordshire, a Postgraduate Certificate of Clinical Research from University College Dublin, and a Bachelor Degree in Clinical Medicine from Medical School in China.
Siyue's research interests are primarily in applying Intelligent Systems in medical texts to predict and diagnose diseases, as well as the area of Explainable AI. She has a growing interest in the other AI areas, such as Computer Vision, Signal Processing, and Robotics.
Siyue actively participated in multiple conferences and workshops, such as HealTax 2021, 2022 conference, ICIAI 2021 and IEEE BHI-BSN 2021, 2022 conferences. She published two papers via international conferences, one paper via IEEE Access, and one more manuscript is still under review by the top journal. She also took part in the Kaggle competition related to 'Hacking the Kidney ' to identify glomeruli in human kidney tissue images.
Siyue has taught various modules at Foundation and Undergraduate levels in Leeds International Study Centre, such as Biology, Physiology and Anatomy, Immunology, Chemistry, Neuroscience, and Pharmacology.
