Staff Profile
Dr Yi Zhou
Lecturer in Marine Engineering
Background
Before joining Newcastle University as a staff, I was a PhD student in Newcastle University. I obtained my PhD degree in Newcastle University in 2022, with the research focusing on the modelling and optimal control of an efficient hybrid propulsion system for an ice-capable ship.
I started my role as a staff at Newcastle University in 2021. As a Research Assistant/Associate at Newcastle University, I have contributed to impactful projects such as the EU Horizon 2020-funded SusTunTech and the Innovate UK-funded RESTORE. I am currently working as Lecturer in Marine Engineering.
