Project description
I am researching the manufacture of microfluidic devices and instrumentation for DNA diagnosis. I am exploring innovative, low-cost stereolithography 3D printing and high-precision machining techniques.
I am investigating polymer lab-on-chip platforms. These will process DNA based assays for Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR). I am studying all stages of their production, from design and manufacture to characterisation and optimisation.
The research is co-funded by the Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council (EPSRC) Centre for Doctoral Training in Additive Manufacturing and QuantuMDx, Ltd.
