Civil Engineering: MEng (Hons).
At the open day, I enjoyed the course presentation and the staff and students were very enthusiastic and helpful
About your course
We cover a wide variety of Civil Engineering modules which is great as you know very little to start with. As we have a lot of hours of lectures, you spend a lot of time with your course mates and make some great friends.
Civil Engineering at Newcastle is a highly regarded degree, providing many opportunities, not only within engineering. The course is fun and diverse, and has a lot of group work which develops lots of skills.
Recommending Newcastle
Newcastle is a great city providing many opportunities for all sorts of fun. The nightlife is fantastic, and never disappoints.
Living in Newcastle
Newcastle is a city for everyone. The atmosphere in the city provides a safe and friendly environment. Newcastle accommodates everyone’s interests with a vibrant centre, strong sporting background at St James’ Park, loads of open parks through the city and the beach is only a few stops away on the Metro.
Clubs and societies
There are a huge amount of clubs and societies you can join. I have been a member of the Athletics and Cross-Country Club for the past three years. I have travelled all over the country to compete for the University, including the Olympic Stadium. Most of these trips are great fun!
Accommodation
This year I live in Sandyford, though I have lived in Jesmond. Finding accommodation is easy. There are so many houses to choose from and there is never a shortage. The quality of houses is very high.
