Monday 16 September

15:00 - PGT Welcome Talk - RB Green Lecture Theatre, Dental School

A welcome talk for all Postgraduate Taught students.

Tuesday 17 September

13:00 - Welcome Talk - L301, Merz Court

Time: 13:00 - 15:00

A welcome talk for Sustainable Chemical Engineering PGT students with the Degree Programme Director, Sharon Joyce.

Wednesday 18 September

09:00 - Computer Clusters Drop-in - SAGE Computing Lab 8.10a & 8.10b, Merz Court

Time: 09:00 - 14:00

Venue: SAGE Computing Lab 8.10a and 8.10b, Merz Court

Designated computer space to access online courses for Sustainable Chemical Engineering MSc and Renewable Energy, Enterprise and Management MSc students.

PhD students are available throughout the day to help with online services. You don't have to stay all day.

This session is optional.

14:00 - Introduction to Research, Communication and Professional Skills module - L101, Merz Court

Time: 14:00 - 15:00

Venue: L101, Merz Court

This is an introduction to the Research, Communication and Professional Skills (CME8064) module with Katie Wray.

Thursday 19 September

10:00 - Introduction to the Language Resource Centre - L202, Merz Court

Time:

  • 10:00 - 10:30: Group 1
  • 10:30 - 11:00: Group 2
  • 11:00 - 11:30: Group 3
  • 11:30 - 12:00: Group 4
  • 12:00 - 12:30: Group 5
  • 12:30 - 13:00: Group 6

Venue: L202, Merz Court

This session will be run in groups. Your group allocation will be sent to your student email before Induction Week starts.

Do not attend a group session you're not assigned to. We have limited spaces available for each group.

Friday 20 September

10:00 - Student-Staff Social Event - Kings Hall, Armstrong Building

Time: 10:00 - 12:00

Venue: Kings Hall, Armstrong Building 

A chance to get to know other PGT students, personal tutors and staff.

Refreshments will be provided.

12:00 - Research Opportunities in Chemical Engineering - The Buttery, Merz Court

Time: 12:00 - 13:00

Venue: The Buttery, Merz Court

Learn about all the research opportunities available in Chemical Engineering.

14:00 - Wellbeing introduction session - L101, Merz Court

Time: 14:00 to 15:00

Venue: Room L101, Merz Court

An introduction to Wellbeing support within the School.
