The mission, tone and scope of President Biden’s presidency will be shaped by America’s domestic landscape, with implications for how the ‘special relationship’ will evolve in the post-Trump era. The Director of the British Foreign Policy Group – an independent think tank working to strengthen the UK’s international engagement and understanding of global affairs – considers the issues.

Biography:

Sophia Gaston is a social and political researcher, who conducts international projects on public opinion, specialising in both qualitative fieldwork and quantitative analysis. Sophia’s work is especially focused on social and political change, populism, the media and democracy - with a focus on threats to governance in Western nations.

Sophia Gaston is a Research Fellow, and Head of Research, at Arena, a research unit in the Institute for Global Affairs at the London School of Economics and Political Science. She is also an Academic Fellow at the European Policy Centre in Brussels, and the Managing Director of the British Foreign Policy Group.
