I moved to the North East in 2019 and decided not to leave. I’ve been working at Newcastle University for the past four years, initially in the International Office and then as Special Projects Manager in HaSS. In spring 2023 I took up a Research Associate role in Insights North East (INE): an exciting new RED-funded partnership between Newcastle University, Northumbria University, Northumbria Healthcare NHS Trust, Newcastle upon Tyne Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, North of Tyne Combined Authority and Newcastle City Council.
Before coming to this beautiful part of the world, I spent five years working as an in-house translator (French/Italian); completed an AHRC-funded PhD between the National Gallery and the University of Liverpool; and held short-term postdoctoral fellowships at the Frick Collection, New York, and the Paul Mellon Centre for the Study of British Art.
In terms of my research, I find myself more and more interested in how the research ecosystem works, in knowledge exchange, and in how expertise is built up and shared.
