Laura Wyld’s career has spanned business, public life and the voluntary sector. Her private sector work has included advising some of the UK’s leading businesses on strategy and communications.


From 2013 until 2016 she was an adviser to the then Prime Minister. She is currently a Non-Executive board member at Ofsted and at the Department of Digital, Culture, Media and Sport.

Laura has been a member of the House of Lords since 2017. Her policy interests include education, employment and mental health. She was recently involved in helping to establish a charity dedicated to tackling gambling-related harms. She is also a member of the House of Lords Public Services Committee.

Laura was born and brought up in Gosforth, Newcastle-upon-Tyne. She read history at Sidney Sussex College, Cambridge. She is married and has three young daughters.
