Jacqui Hodgson

Jacqui was born in Durham City and grew up in Carlisle, Cambridgeshire and Beckenham. She studied English Language and Literature at Manchester University before working on a local newspaper in Kent where she became an NCTJ accredited journalist.

Jacqui moved to Newcastle in 1986 to take up work with the BBC. She has worked as a reporter, correspondent, presenter, producer and editor. Most recently Jacqui oversaw current affairs and documentary production in the region and led a multi award winning team, specialising in investigative journalism. She now works as a freelance trainer and media consultant. She is also a regular chair at book festivals.

Jacqui has served as Chair of the Judges for the Royal Television Society in the North East, is a trustee on the board of Sage Gateshead and part of a village group working to welcome refugees into our community.
