Roles and Responsibilities
I am responsible for the overall leadership and direction of the Executive and Governance Office, ensuring there is a professional and effective support service for the University's senior management team and oversight of the University's corporate governance functions. I work closely with the Vice-Chancellor, Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Registrar and Chair of Council on all matters of University governance and am secretary to University Executive Board.
Background
I have worked at Newcastle University since 2002. Between 2005 and 2017 I worked for the Learning and Teaching Development Service, where I was the Educational Governance Team Manager. Key achievements were writing the submissions and managing preparations for the QAA Institutional Audit in 2009 and QAA Higher Education Review in 2016. Before that I was based in the School of Modern Languages as a Research Associate on an AHRC-funded research project into Nature and Environment in Modern German Literature.
