Describe your current role

I am Senior Vice President and Director at Fleishman-Hillard in Brussels.

I'm a senior advisor to corporations and industries in the field of European Union public affairs and communications. My background is in environment and chemicals policies. I now work across our client base assisting clients from sectors as diverse as healthcare, financial services and ICT as well as maintaining clients in the energy and chemicals sectors.

In addition to my consulting role I am a member of our management team in Brussels and a senior leader within the firm globally. I hold responsibility on the management team for marketing and business development.

Studying at Newcastle

The most positive aspect of studying Politics at Newcastle was the broad range of subject matter addressed that fed my intellectual curiosity and allowed me to see politics and indeed the world from a multitude of angles.

The course provided me with the foundations that I rely upon to this day in my working life; an intellectual curiosity about politics and policy in all its forms and the ability to ask the right question. The friends I made at Newcastle and the guidance I received from academic staff remain with me to this day.

Tony Zito was a bedrock of my time at Newcastle. He’s what you would hope for in a member of staff; a font of knowledge and insights on his area of expertise combined with a true sense of pastoral care for the young impressionable students under his tutelage.
