My time at Newcastle University has been an incredible journey of personal and academic growth. As an international student, I initially anticipated some degree of culture shock when transitioning to a new academic environment. However, my experience in the Sociology department was one of finding more similarities than differences. The department’s diverse and inclusive atmosphere fostered a sense of coherence among students and staff from various backgrounds, making me feel welcomed and valued.
