Newcastle University social geographers Tessa Holland and Helen Jarvis recently have produced a short film ‘Navigating Slow’ to celebrate collaboration with @CittaslowUK the UK network of slow towns currently representing Berwick upon Tweed, Aylsham, Mold, Llangollen and Perth. The ‘slow’ philosophy invites towns and universities to consider new ways of working together to address common challenges – such as climate action, health and wellbeing.
A little known threat of a ‘no-deal’ Brexit is the loss of protected food names with it artisan skills and sustainable ethos characteristic of ‘slow living’ in small towns.
