Project description
I explore the normalisation of intensive training regimes within professional football club academies. The study will produce impactful research by:
- discovering how child players and their families understand the practices of academies
- giving a voice to the boys involved in academy schemes and explore how they're affected
- exploring the social dynamics and meanings within academy spaces
- examining the possibilities of abuse and harm through the lens of children and their families
Other interests
I’m a keen road cyclist and ride with Blaydon CC and undertake cycling events. I enjoy traveling, knitting, surfing, being at the beach and collecting far too many house plants. I have been learning Italian for several years and enjoy learning about their rich culture.
