Study the ancient world in a contemporary environment with a distinguished international reputation.
A modern take on the Ancient World
Our Classics and Ancient History community brings together international experts working on Ancient Greek and Latin cultures, literature and languages. We have a broad base of expertise, ranging from Archaic Greece to the early Byzantine periods, and work together with colleagues across the University and with external partners (e.g., British Schools at Athens and Rome) to create a diverse, inclusive and nurturing environment to produce world-leading teaching and research.
