Award nomination for Archaeology duo

Professor Rob Collins and Dr Jane Harrison nominated for Current Archaeology ‘Book of the Year’ award

13 February 2025

Congratulations to Professor Rob Collins and Dr Jane Harrison whose work has been nominated for a Current Archaeology ‘Book of the Year’ award.

The nomination is for their book Excavations Along Hadrian’s Wall, 2019-2021, which presents results of the excavations completed by the Hadrian’s Wall Community Archaeology Project (WallCAP).

The project involved a series of fieldwork locations along the Hadrian’s Wall corridor between 2019 and 2021, with the focus being on sites that were poorly understood or under threat. This meant that any findings could help p improved understanding of the site so they could be better managed in future.

The Current Archaeology ‘Book of the Year’ award recognises works that have greatly contributed to the field. The award winner will be announced following a public vote, which closes on Monday 10 February.
