I am a Lecturer in History (0.5fte).
I currently hold the role of Deputy Degree Programme Director for History.
My scholarly interests include the history of the Mediterranean region and European history, broadly defined.
I am a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy and was nominated for a Newcastle Teaching Award in 2020.
I joined Newcastle University as a part-time Teaching Associate in 2012, leading seminars and delivering lectures on European history, world history, the history of empire , and historical methods.

My research interests include the history of the Mediterranean region, the social history of noble households, and the history of military religious orders. My published work includes contributions to the history of eighteenth-century Sicily, Malta and the Order of St. John (the Hospitallers).
