Staff Profiles

I first joined the School as Deputy School Manager in September 2017 and have been School Manager (initally in an Acting up capacity) since July 2022. This means I lead the School’s Professional Services team. I am involved in managing resources – bought in teaching, budgets, human and physical resources. I am a full member of School Executive Board (SEB) and work closely with the Academic Head of School and the senior management team, and I am also a member of HASS Faculty Managers group so link up with schools and services across the institution. I am responsible for providing data to the University about our activities and ensuring compliance with local and national policies in Higher Education. I line manage the School’s Technical staff, our Research Manager, Finance Officer, operations team, Education Coordinator and Marketing Administrator and am involved in the strategic work for all of the School’s areas of work.

I have a Teaching and Learning background, having started my career at Oxford University in the History Faculty as undergraduate Secretary where I developed a particular interest in outreach and admissions. Having moved back to Cambridge, where I grew up and went to University, I was based in the Department of Politics and International Studies for four years before moving into the section responsible for Quality Assurance. This, along with a brief stint in Newcastle’s LTDS, means I continue to have an interest in Quality Assurance and Student Experience.
