The Roman Temples Project, Maryport is a five-year long field project sponsored by the Senhouse Museum Trust and supported by Newcastle University at Maryport on the Cumbrian Coast. Fieldwork is conducted with the kind permission of the North of England Civic Trust.

The Project was established to examine the archaeological context of one of the finest collections of Roman altars ever discovered, a series of altars mainly dedicated to Jupiter that were discovered in 1870.

In addition to discovering other Roman religious dedications at the site, the project has investigated two temples in a cult enclosure from the second century AD and demonstrated the dramatic restructuring of the site in the twilight years of Roman Britain.
