2023 Student Internships

Check out these spotlights on our 2023 student internships

In 2023 Students worked on a range of in-person and virtual internships in organisiations located around the world, including Northern Ireland, Bosnia, Croatia and Cambodia:

Ulster Museum

The Ulster Museum NI have set up a permanent exhibition named The Troubles and Beyond. The internship involved cataloguing collections, research into the existing selection and assessing the collection to inform a development plan.

"An amazing experience to get behind the scenes of the stores to see the many artefacts from throughout Irish history."

Location: In-person, Belfast, Northern Ireland

War Childhood Museum

The War Childhood Museum (WCM) is an independent, youth-led, human-centred museum dedicated exclusively to childhoods affected by armed conflicts.  

"Understanding resilience against tyranny and cruelty through the eyes of war affected children was an inspiring experience."

Location: In-person, Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina

Youth For Peace

Youth For Peace conduct peace-making and community building activities in several provinces to empower young people to become agents of peaceful, social change. 

"The placement was special and unique.  Experiencing new challenging and exciting things helped me foster cultural insights."

Location: In-person, Phnom Penh, Cambodia

Youth Initiative for Human Rights

The Youth Initiative for Human Rights Croatia is a non-governmental, youth-led human rights organization, with the mission to contribute to the realization of justice for war crimes, reconciliation within Croatia and with the region, and strengthening of democracy.  

"Academically stimulating, sometimes mentally taxing but incredibly worth it."

Location: In-Person, Zagreb, Croatia. 

2024 internships

Applications are now open for summer 2024 internships.  

  • The internships are paid and are open to students of all academic backgrounds.
  • Undergraduate students (who have completed at least 2 years before the commencement of the internship), Master's and PhD students are eligible to apply.
