In-Sessional English

The In-Sessional English team is here to help you use the English language to effectively communicate knowledge in your academic studies.

About us

For students who do not have English as their first language, the In-Sessional English team are here to help you achieve your potential in your academic subject.

You'll be able to attend up to six hours of classes each week. Our lessons range between lecture-style and workshop-format. They cover reading, writing, listening and speaking.

Teaching will take place in-person, except for the 1-to-1 Writing tutorials, which will be online. These can also be requested in-person if applicable.

In-Sessional reports

Detailed reports are written three times a year and presented to the Board of studies. These reports bring together the different sources of staff, student and external feedback and outline developments and actions that are proposed to the programme.

In the interests of transparency, reports from the previous academic year are made available to you on the links below. If you have any comments about these reports, please e-mail us and think about putting yourself forward for the staff-student committee.

Staff and student committee meetings

Staff and student committee meetings are held twice a year for staff and students to discuss issues relating to the In-Sessional English provision. This is an important part of the quality assurance procedure.
