General entry requirements

English language and visa requirements
If your first language isn't English you will generally need an IELTS score of 6.5, or equivalent, to study at Newcastle University. Some courses have different requirements, so please check the course you want to study.

Societies
At Newcastle, you will build relationships with fellow students from around the world. We have over 200 societies and sports clubs you can join.
The Islamic Society maintains the prayer room on campus, and arranges regular lectures, study circles and social events.
