By 2018 25% of the Youth Service budget may be in control of young people (‘Aiming High for Young People: A ten year strategy for positive activities’ DCSF 2007). The purpose of this project is to conduct a pilot study using interview and desk research to explore the context surrounding the involvement of children and young people in grant-giving in the North East. The activity will include working with the Regional Youth Work Unit, children and young people, and local authority commissioners to understand and explore this context – both from a policy and practice agenda.
