The JISC Information Environment (IE) is a developing framework incorporating an Information Architecture and an increasingly wide range of services and tools to facilitate teaching, learning and research in higher and further education. The IE programmes will potentially transform the ability of learners, teachers and researchers to enjoy convenient and secure access to multiple, distributed information resources. However, there is evidence that considerable effort may still be required to enable institutions to benefit as fully as possible. This project will deliver an empirically grounded, up to date picture of the readiness of HE and FE institutions to interact with the outputs of the IE programmes.
