Research Excellence Framework 2014
The Research Excellence Framework (REF) 2014 assessed the quality of research in the UK’s higher education institutions.
The review process is managed by the Higher Education Funding Council for England (HEFCE) and is based on three main criteria:
- quality of research outputs
- impact of research (beyond the University)
- vitality of the research environment
Newcastle University Business School has been ranked 14th in the UK out of 101 for research power, with 97% of outputs internationally recognised and around 60% world leading or internationally excellent.
