Build Your Career in Research
We provide a lot of opportunities to develop your landscape career through work, study or by volunteering with us.
Postdoctoral fellowships
The Centre for Landscape is a hub for postdoctoral researchers and postgraduate students.
Early career researchers contribute fully to all our activities, including:
- organising and attending seminars and symposiums
- joining, contributing to and leading research projects
- publishing research, both collaboratively and independently
Grow your career
Newcastle University is the ideal place to develop and grow your career as a landscape researcher. The Centre for Landscape provides the focal point for researchers, working across the globe, at all career stages, to work together and explore their ideas.
We support applications for many postdoctoral fellowship schemes, including:
- Marie Skłodowska Curie
- the British Academy
- the Leverhulme Trust
- Newcastle University Academic Track (NUAcT) Fellowships
If you’re interested in applying for a postdoctoral fellowship, please contact us.
Visiting researchers and visiting postgraduate students
Visiting fellows and researchers are important members of our research community. We’re always pleased to host landscape professionals and academics on secondments or short-term research visits.
Every year we host visiting PhD researchers who work with us to learn new skills or specialisms. We can also accept applications for Erasmus work placements.
If you want to make a visit funded by your national research council or a similar scheme, please contact us.
