Landscape ECR Academy Information Session

Landscape ECR Academy Information Session

On Tuesday 18th June Dr Charlotte Veal and Dr Maria Duggan led an information session on plans for the ECR Academy 2024-25) The Centre was pleased to welcome landscape ECRs (early career researchers) from across the University and with a wide range of specialisms, and to hear the varied discussions going on in the room. The event was planned as an informal opportunity for landscape researchers to meet over lunch, providing an opportunity to ask questions about the programme and to provide suggestions of what could feature in the programme of activities.

The Landscape ECR Academy is intended to furnish landscape researchers with the contacts, skills and confidence to meet the increasing calls for multi-disciplinary, challenge-led, and impactful research. The programme for 2024-2025 will provide unique training, development and networking opportunities to a select cohort Newcastle University Landscape ECR researchers. It will provide a platform for landscape researchers across diverse academic backgrounds – in Science, Engineering, Arts and Humanities, Medicine – to interact across a programme of events, stimulating discussions and collaboration at the ‘intersections of disciplines’. Fellows will engage in a programme of networking opportunities across Autumn 2024 to Spring 2025, including an intensive academy in January 2024. This programme will take advantage of partnerships with multiple regional, national and European landscape organisations and bodies developed by the Centre for Landscape. The programme will also connect with the Centre for Landscape’s Policy Partnerships Project.

This project has been fully funded through the Newcastle University Research England Enhancing Research Culture Fund. It will be jointly led by Dr Charlotte Veal and Dr Maria Duggan
