'Engaging with Landscape Policy' Early Career Researcher Workshop

As part of the 'Landscape Policy Partnerships' project, representatives of the Centre for Landscape (Co-Director Prof. Maggie Roe, Dr Charlotte Veal, Dr Niki Black and Centre Research Associate Dr Maria Duggan) attended the PECSRL Conference in Lublin and Zamość, Poland, in September (The Permanent European Conference for the Study of the Rural Landscape .

As a featured activity of the conference, the Centre for Landscape hosted a workshop for early career researchers on 'Engaging with Policy'. The session highlighted case studies of Newcastle University projects with policy impacts, and discussed mechanisms for impacting policy and for connecting with 'policy-makers', including policy briefing notes and creative methods. We were very pleased to connect with the group of international landscape ECR researchers who registered for the event, and were excited to hear more about their plans for making connections with politicians, policy experts and various community and professional groups.
