Professor Abimbola to deliver keynote speech at Newcastle Law School
Following our recent announcement about joining forces with notable alumna Professor Funke Abimbola MBE for a new equality, diversity, and inclusion initiative, Newcastle Law School can now confirm dates for delivery of a keynote speech and allyship training by Professor Abimbola.
“As Head of School, I am proud to announce that Professor Abimbola will return to campus in person on 4th May to deliver her keynote speech, ‘Why Diversity Matters’ from 1-2pm in the Law Lecture Theatre. She will then be delivering allyship training to the Law School community online on 11th May.Professor Abimbola is a notable alumna of the Law School and was recently appointed Visiting Professor of Practice earlier this year. Alongside practising law as a corporate solicitor for over 20 years in private practice and within the global pharmaceutical industry, Professor Abimbola has become a recognised diversity, equity, and inclusion leader.Through her consulting firm, The Austen Bronte Consultancy, Professor Abimbola will support the Law School in taking important next steps towards becoming more diverse, inclusive, and equitable.”Dr Jonathan Galloway, Head of School
