Newcastle University's Curriculum Design Toolkit
The curriculum design toolkit has been created by our Curriculum Design and Development colleagues in the Learning Teaching and Development Service (LTDS) and in collaboration with our Education Deans. The toolkit's guidance is based on the teams' knowledge and experience, as well as scholarship and best practice.
Introduction to the Toolkit
This section introduces you to the toolkit and its underpinning design principles.
Discovery
In the discovery section, we explore how to identify the key drivers influencing curriculum review, engage colleagues in curriculum discovery, and navigate programme approval and QAA requirements.
Design
The design section supports you with programme-level design, teaching approaches, assessment and feedback design, and module/programme structures.
Development
The development section will help you review the student journey holistically, consider cross-cutting curriculum themes, and plan for evaluation.
