Promotion to Students
To support our taught students, each is allocated a named personal tutor, and they will be informed that this is their first point of contact for queries;
- Information about each student’s personal tutor, including their email address for contact, is included prominently in the Student Portal.
- The Student Portal also includes information on each student’s Peer Mentor and School Office, as well as information and guidance on others in their academic unit who may be able to help with enquiries e.g. Module Leaders.
- The Student Portal describes for students the purpose and boundaries of personal tutoring, as well as links to wellbeing support.
- To support students who contact their personal tutor by email, it is important that automatic email replies from tutors give information for students on response times.
The Students’ Union has been heavily involved in the development of our proposals for personal tutoring, and Student Reps have been involved in School and Faculty consultations.
