Directions and parking information for the Health Innovation Neighbourhood.
Travel directions
We are about a mile west of the city centre and two miles east of the A1/A69 junction. For access to the Newcastle University buildings in the Academic Quarter, the best entrance is from the north of the Health Innovation Neighbourhood site using the Studley Terrace entrance.
Postcode: NE4 5PL (or NE4 6BE on older systems).
Parking
There are red bays available for patients and volunteers to the Magnetic Resonance Centre, Clinical Ageing Research Unit and the CRESTA clinics. Special permits need to be displayed and these are issued by the reception staff in these areas: NMRC map (PDF: 375kb).
Parking immediately around the Centre is managed by the University, as pay-and-display for permit holders only. A limited amount of public pay-and-display parking is available on site, in those areas managed by the Newcastle upon Tyne Hospitals Trust. Details of charges can be found on the notices in each zone. These areas are monitored by an automated number plate recognition system.
The Blue zone is available for public parking and is between the Ageing Research Labs and Centre for the Health of the Elderly.
There are generally car parking spaces available in the surrounding streets, but please show consideration for local residents should you park off-site.
