North British Functional Seminar returns to Newcastle University
11 November 2023
Mathematicians across UK met on 10-11 November to attend NBFAS with talks from Paula Cerejeiras (Universidade de Aveiro), Konrad Schmüdgen (University of Leipzig). The NBFAS Society is funded by LMS and research groups from the 12 University members (Aberdeen, Queen's University Belfast, Birmingham, Cambridge, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Heriot-Watt, Lancaster, Leeds, Newcastle-upon-Tyne, Nottingham, Oxford).
NBFAS was founded in February 1968 by the late Frank Bonsall and John Ringrose. Since then, almost 200 meetings have taken place at the growing number of member institutions (at present 12 universities in England, Scotland and Northern Ireland) with the purpose to bring to the UK leading figures in functional analysis that are based outside the UK.
The Newcastle meeting was organised by David Kimsey and Evgenios Kakariadis (NBFAS secretary).
