Staff Profile
Background
My name is Ivan Almeida (he/him). I’m an astronomer from Guarulhos, a vibrant city in Brazil. Currently, I am a Postdoctoral Researcher Associate working at Newcastle University.
My primary research focus is on understanding how black holes impact their environment, with a particular interest in the role of accreting supermassive black holes (Active Galactic Nuclei, or AGN). I have successfully developed theoretical models for accreting black holes and AGN feedback, and I perform numerical simulations to generate predictions from these models that can be directly tested against observations.
