Visiting Fellowships in Machine Learning

About the fellowship
We’re looking for enthusiastic early-career researchers working in Machine Learning. We’re offering fully funded visiting fellowships, that will last four to six weeks. You’ll join a team led by Professor Chris Oates.
- Three fellowships are available. More positions might become available at a later date.
- Applicants can be from the UK or abroad.
- Each fellowship should last four to six weeks. The fellowship should be carried out within one year of the award.
- Permissible travel, visa and accommodation expenses will be reimbursed up to £4,000.
All visiting fellowships are financially supported by the Leverhulme Trust.
With your application, you’ll need to submit a proposed research project. Some relevant research areas include:
- Bayesian computation
- diffusion models
- Gaussian processes
- generalised Bayesian inference
- kernel methods
- Monte Carlo
- numerical linear algebra
- probabilistic numerics
- reinforcement learning
- Stein's method
How to apply
To apply for a visiting fellowship, please submit one A4 page outlining:
- the proposed research project
- potential collaborators at Newcastle University
- any accessibility requirements
- whether you have approval from your home institution or supervisor
Applicants can be from the UK or abroad.
The closing date is 31 July 2024. Successful applicants will be notified by 7 August 2024.
