Complimentary Social and Cultural Programme
Complimentary Social and Cultural Programme
Explore the North East's treasured sights with the Study Abroad Team!
Newcastle University invite all fee-paying Study Abroad students to take part in a complimentary social and cultural programme to help them make the most of their semester or year in England. We enlist local experts as guides as we tour North East England's treasured sites during a series of day trips and evening events.
This social programme will allow students to expand their cultural horizons, forge important friendships and create memories to last a lifetime. All of these events are FREE to attend and we encourage students to sign up to as many as they wish!
Previously, Study Abroad students attended trips where they:
- Rode broomsticks at Alnwick Castle (where Harry Potter was filmed)
- Cheered on the Newcastle Falcons at a Rugby match
- Devoured a traditional Fish and Chip lunch at the British seaside
- Played beach games at King Edward’s Bay
- Attended a festive performance at the famous Theatre Royal Newcastle
- Made bird-nest boxes for local schools during a ‘micro-volunteering’ session
- Spent the day exploring the medieval city of York
- Enjoyed a special tour of Newcastle United Football Stadium, St. James’ Park
