The Zibby Garnett Travel Fellowship (ZGTF), Anywhere
The Zibby Garnett Travel Fellowship is a charity giving financial help to individual students and apprentices to broaden their understanding of conservation worldwide. The students travel to relevant countries of interest, studying regional heritage craft and conservation techniques, and bring these skills back to the UK.
Offers UK adults over the age of 18 full funding to travel anywhere in the world for 4-8 weeks researching a topic of their choice that can make a contribution to UK society on their return.
Supports outgoing young UK citizens to establish friendships and direct cultural contacts through ‘homestay’ visits with indigenous communities in developing countries.
Awards small grants to students who are required to spend a short period studying overseas, such as fieldwork or medical electives. Grants are also available for university expedition groups.
Assistance for journeys between your home and the overseas institution during a full academic year abroad. Also some help is provided for essential expenses, medical insurance and travel visas.
This is an internal fund to support Newcastle University students and recent graduates to take the next step in their career development. The fund should be used towards opportunities that enhance your skills/experience. Applications open XXXX and funding is awarded on a first come first served basis.
A book which will give you access to key information on around 2,000 grant makers. The 2022/23 version of the book is available in the University Library.
The Lord Mayor's Fund
Supports young people with £50-£1000 to take part in character developing projects, usually abroad. Preference is given to applicants from London although awards are also made to other UK based applicants. Applications usually open in late Spring.
GVI’s International Volunteer Abroad Scholarship Program
Awards up to £2,000 (about $2,500 depending on the exchange rate) annually to eligible applicants looking to pursue an international education experience
Travel scholarships to help participants defray the cost of volunteering, studying, interning, teaching, or working abroad. Twice a year, we award a $500 to $1,000 scholarship to two travelers.
