Study (up to 3 months)UK Students who wish to study in Romania for a duration of 90 days can enter and study without the need of an additional visa. Your passport should have more than 6 months left post exiting Romania and be issued in the last 10 years.

Gather your Documents
To apply for a short stay Schengen visa students need to gather the following documents:
- valid travel ticket to destination
- travel medical insurance
- an authenticated invitation from the host stating that the latter covers the repatriation expenses, should the invited foreigner not leave Romania upon expiry of his/her right of stay granted by the visa, as well as the cost of accommodation and living expenses in case the host undertakes to cover such costs
- proof of financial means in the amount of EUR 50/day for the entire period
- proof of accommodation

Study (more than 6 months)EU and EEA Students do not need any other additional visa to enter Romania but should apply for a Residence Certificate upon arrival.UK Students are required to obtain a Romanian long-stay visa (marked D), when they intend to remain in Romania for stays of more than 90 days throughout any 180-day period that precedes each day of stay.
Student who apply for the Visa D can be: nationals who apply for visa as a student, trainees, pupils, or to those who participate in a pupil exchange scheme or in an educational project.

Students obtaining a D-type visa will need extend their visa by applying for Residence Permit.
Gather Your Documents
- Proof of acceptance for studies from the Romanian Ministry of Education
- Proof of participation in a pupil exchange scheme or in an educational project, conducted by an organisation
- Proof of payment of the tuition fee for at least one academic year
- Proof of means of financial support
- Criminal record
- Proof of knowledge of the language of the study programme to be followed
- Proof of participation in a pupil exchange scheme
- Proof on behalf of the organisation/entity that conducts the pupil exchange programme
- The visa for studies is also granted to the third-country nationals accepted for studies on the grounds of international documents to which Romania is party
- Letter of acceptance from the Romanian Ministry of Education, attesting that the visa applicant will attend a full-time course of study, at a state pre-university education institution, high school level
- Proof of accommodation
- Travel medical insurance that covers the entire duration of the requested period of stay
