We strongly believe the marine environment is the everybody's responsibility. Awareness of marine issues is vital. We want to ensure continued protection of our seas and sustainable use of its fantastic resources.
We're involved in a number of projects that look at ways to engage people with the marine environment.
Our aims
We aim to:
- promote awareness and stewardship of the marine environment
- encourage people to think and act sustainably
- empower people to participate in informed debate about environmental issues
- contribute in meaningful ways to the conservation of their local habitats
- provide opportunities for members of the public to contribute their expertise, observations and skills
- encourage young people to consider careers in marine areas, and to promote interest in STEM subjects
