Jeremy Phillipson is Professor of Rural Development at the Centre for Rural Economy in the School of Natural and Environmental Sciences at Newcastle University. He has research interests on the development needs of rural economies and fishing communities, processes of expertise exchange within rural land management, and on the integration of social and natural sciences in resource management. Jeremy is Director of the National Innovation Centre for Rural Enterprise (funded by Research England - https://www.ncl.ac.uk/cre/nationalinnovationcentreforruralenterprise/). Previous roles have included Assistant Director of the UK Research Council's Rural Economy and Land Use Programme (Relu - http://www.relu.ac.uk/) and Network Manager of the European Social Science Fisheries Network (ESSFiN).
