Craig

2007 History Graduate

What have you gone on to do after graduating?

I moved to Mexico City in 2011 and worked at the British Embassy for 12 months, before going on to work in climate change. I'm still in Mexico City working in climate change and I'm the Secretary of the Mexican Cricket Federation. I've also written for Mexican history magazines on various topics dealing with British - Mexican relations.

What were the benefits of the PARTNERS Programme for you?

I loved the PARTNERS programme and it's one of the best things I've ever done, and I'll always be grateful to Newcastle University for giving me the opportunity to attend. I can honestly say that without it I would never been able to attend university and be where I am now. I also made some good friends on the programme and we are still in touch today.

If you could give advice or tips to new PARTNERS students, what would you say?

Do it! You won't regret it. I almost didn't do attend because after a long summer of studying and exams I just wanted to rest, put the books away for good, and not do anymore. Then I thought - it's only a week, just do it and I've never regretted it.
