Your PASS Result

On Monday 5 August 2024, you will receive your PARTNERS result via email.

Your summer school result

  • abide by the behavioural expectations and standards set out in the Attendee Code of Conduct
  • full engagement with all compulsory sessions, including:
    • 100% attendance at all present-in-person sessions
    • engagement with all compulsory online sessions, as directed by your strand leader and PARTNERS Team
  • submit your Formative Assessment, as directed by your strand leader
  • submit the PASS Evaluation Form, by 5pm on Monday 8 July 2024

Your summer school result tells you whether you have met the conditions above and therefore met the PARTNERS element of your offer from Newcastle University.

Contact the PARTNERS team via the Helpdesk if you have any questions at all.

Summer School result: Pass

Congratulations - this is great news!

It means that you have successfully completed all elements of the PARTNERS Programme. Your place of study at Newcastle University will now depend upon any remaining terms of your offer, such as your A level results. If you meet the remaining terms of your offer, you will be accepted to Newcastle University.

Summer School result: Fail

This means that you have not successfully completed the Summer School. This also means that you have not met the terms of your offer.

You will be considered a 'near-miss' candidate and your exam results will be assessed in preparation for results day. Your place of study will depend upon your performance and the performance of your peers.

Get results day ready

At around 08:30 on Thursday 15 August 2024, your UCAS track account will be updated. This will confirm whether you've received a place of study at Newcastle University.

You will already know whether you've passed the PARTNERS Summer School element of your offer. You'll be waiting on any remaining conditions, such as your final A level grades.

The ideal scenario:

  • successfully complete the Summer School
  • achieve the required A level grades (or equivalent) that are set out in your offer

Under this scenario, your place at Newcastle University will be confirmed via your UCAS Track account.

If you don't quite meet the A level grades (or equivalent) required in your offer, you may still receive confirmation of your place to study at Newcastle University. This would be as either your firm or insurance choice. It will depend upon your exam performance, the number of places available on your course and the performance of your peers.

Before results day: make a plan & be prepared

Make sure that you're prepared for A level results day and know all about the Clearing process.

Prepare a plan, in case your place of study with your firm choice is not confirmed:

  • make a list of alternative courses and universities that interest you so that when you call the Clearing hotline, you know exactly what to ask for
  • each university has its own Clearing hotline and webpage. Make a note of each one, in case there aren't any places available at Newcastle University
  • prioritise which universities you will call and which courses you will ask about
  • you can still apply to other courses at Newcastle University via Clearing too
During results day: execute your plan

Collect your A level (or equivalent) results from school/college as early as possible. Check your UCAS Track account to see if your place of study has been confirmed.

The PARTNERS team will be available from 08:30 to 17:00 on results day to discuss your results and your offer. If you'd like to chat about your options or your results, get in touch.

What if your place hasn't been confirmed?

If things haven't gone quite to plan on A level results day, you still have options.

Check the Newcastle University Clearing website, to see which courses are available through Clearing. This website will be updated throughout A level results day, as places become available

Contact Newcastle University Clearing. Advisers may be able to offer you a place on courses through Clearing, depending on your exam results. They will not be able to tell you what your final grades are, so you must collect these yourself from your school/college.

Top Tips for Clearing...

It's very important that you get your results from your school/college as early as possible:

  • if you call a Clearing helpline, university staff will not be able to do anything unless you have your results to hand
  • university staff cannot tell you what grades you have achieved
  • offers to study on available courses can fill up quickly, so it's in your interests to act fast
