Your Academic Strand

You'll gain entry-level knowledge and specific skills in your chosen subject area.

Courses and assessment

Academic courses are delivered by undergraduate teaching staff. Activities will vary depending upon what subject you've applied to. You will have been notified by the PARTNERS team what subject strand you are on. If you're not sure, drop us an email and we can let you know.

Assessment at the Summer School

All subject strands contain a formative piece of work that you must complete. You will receive feedback on this from your academic strand leader. You'll receive more details about your assessment once the Summer School begins.

Your provisional timetable

Your timetable includes all of your academic sessions, social activities and logistical arrangements for the week of PASS. It is colour coded so you can see which sessions are compulsory (green) and which sessions are optional (purple).

You must attend all compulsory sessions in order to successfully pass the PARTNERS Academic Summer School and meet the conditions of your reduced offer.

Compulsory timetabled slots include:

  • all academic sessions
  • 'Ask the Experts' webinar (preferably attend live, but you can also catch up on one of the recordings)
  • HE Skills Module via Canvas
  • registration
  • induction
  • accomodation briefing

Optional timetabled slots include:

  • on-campus social activities
  • wellbeing support

Timetable variations

You will notice on the timetable that certain slots are labelled as:

  • overnight students only
  • commuting students only

This depends on where you live and the travel arrangements that we will put in place for you. If you are eligible for accommodation and pre-booked travel, you will receive an email with more information.

If you are one of the many PARTNERS students who live locally and can therefore reasonably commute to PASS for a 09:00 start, you won’t be required to stay in university accommodation.

Whether you are a commuting student or not, meals and a range of social activities will be organised by the PARTNERS team. There is lots to get involved with and plenty of opportunities to meet other students.

If after viewing your timetable, you are unclear about anything, please contact us via email
